The Pepper Alley and Box 16 Doll

Because of our recent monsoon, Homecoming at Big Girl School was postponed.  Yesterday was Spirit Day and Cassidy was excited to go to school decked out in her school's colors.  When she came home, she told us all about the Pepper Alley they went to on the football field, and how she cheered extra hard for the two football players their class had adopted.

After Campbell went to Gymboree class, I took Cassidy to the bookstore to find a book she'd been asking for.  She's mastered the art of tying her own shoes, but wanted the book Red Lace, Yellow Lace to help her practice.  We picked up a few easy readers while we were there to help fill up her Reading Log for October.

There's a toy store in the same shopping center as the bookstore, so we headed across the parking lot to see if they had any Box 16 dolls  Cassidy's been asking for one for a few weeks.  I've never heard of them, but she said she's seen them on TV after school.  She's been in school for eight weeks now and has gotten green every day except for two yellows.  That's excellent behavior, so I decided about a week ago to reward her with this alleged Box 16 doll.  Nobody in the store had ever heard of a Box 16 doll, so we chose to walk through the doll aisles until she saw what she was looking for.  It didn't take long - we'd only been down one aisle when she pointed it out.

And it suddenly all made sense... the box said "Moxie Teen".

Campbell loved the books we brought home for her!
