Today was Teacher Training Day at the girl's school... again. It's only held once every six months, but it seems to come around so quickly these days.
.
I took the day off and we went to the Zoo. It's changed alot since the last time I was there, probably in the mid-to-late 80's? It's super-nice, well-planned, and very easy to navigate. The only bummer was that it was just me and the two of them in the double stroller, so trying to get in and out of doorways or semi-tight areas was difficult. Plus, that stroller is HEAVY by itself... add a 35 pound preschooler, a 20 pound toddler, and a diaper bag packed full and it feels like you're pushing a tank. Luckily the hills weren't too terribly steep, and I ran into one kind soul who opened the restroom door for me.
That's a lion laying in the grass. Cassidy was enthralled with this lion!
Cassidy wanted to pet this duck. I thought that was a great idea until the duck hissed at us. Ummmmm, no. This Mommy Duck isn't letting her Baby Duck get anywhere near that evil thing!!

After we were finished checking out the Zoo, we came home for lunch and Campbell took a nap. Once we were rested and ready for more action, we went to the toy store to pick out a birthday present for Mary Grace. We also got Cassidy a new helmet hat since hers is getting old and got pretty scratched up when she fell a few weekends ago. She doesn't know it, but there's a Hello Kitty bike in the garage with her name on it... shhh!
We got Mary Grace a remote control My Little Pony - super cool!!
Cassidy in her new helmet hat. It still has the knee and elbow pads attached. She couldn't figure out why it wasn't fitting quite right.
